  • how far in advance should I book my session?

    You can book as soon as you’d like! I recommend ASAP if you already know what type of session, location and timeframe you’d like. Or if you’re signing up for a scheduled mini session, get on that list as soon as they’re released because these spots go incredibly fast. For Autumn/Winter sessions, I recommend booking in the summer to ensure you get one of the best dates with the most foliage + enough time for holiday cards.

  • I'm ready to book! what's next?

    Yay!! Please send Chelsea an e-mail at info@poppylarue.com to get started! Once we agree on a date, location + package, you can pay your $100 non-refundable retainer to lock in our appointment. I’ll reach out about a week prior to our session to confirm everything before we meet up!

  • how long will it take to get my photos back?

    Generally, I estimate abut two weeks to receive a completed portrait gallery. But please be advised this estimate does change from time to time based on my current workload. During busy season [Sept-Dec] you can expect a 3-5 week turnaround for general portrait galleries.

    Wedding galleries generally take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to complete based on the current workload at hand.

  • I have no idea what to wear - help!

    You have come to THE right place, friends! If I weren’t a photographer, I’d have absolutely been a fashion designer. [Maybe that’s pushing it?! But I do thoroughly enjoy this process!] I love to help clients pick the perfect pairing! I’ve created a simple “What To Wear Guide” and you can check it out HERE if you’d like!

  • what should I do to prepare for my upcoming newborn session?

    Lifestyle newborn sessions are simple + easy! If you have anything special you’d like photographed with baby, be sure to lay it out ahead of time so that we don’t forget. Generally, I say if you have any neutral blankets or swaddles, lay those out as well. Make sure your home is set to a comfortable temperature so that baby isn’t cold during our session. And lastly, make sure baby is fed prior to my arrival so they are nice + snuggly for our time together.

  • is it okay to text you to book?

    Please don’t. I appreciate any + all business but like any other business, I strive to keep my customers and information as organized as possible. That means, I prefer to have all of my information in one place so that I don’t have to search multiple avenues when the time comes.   • are you able to rush my gallery? I want my photos back sooner.

    Yes! You can pay a rush fee of $300 to receive your portrait gallery back within 36 hours. However, I cannot accept rush fees for weddings or large events. There may be times that I am not able to accept rush fees (due to the amount of sessions I have on hand) So, please always inquire ahead of time.

  • are you able to send over ONE photo asap?

    The short answer is no. Unfortunately, the process I use for organization and editing does not allow me to pump out “just one” photo for holiday cards, etc without interrupting another project at hand. I apologize for the inconvenience however, I’d suggest making sure you book your sessions or event while taking into consideration my current turnaround times or consider paying the $300 rush fee to recieve your full gallery back in 36 hours or less.

  • do you give out RAW files?

    No. We never include RAW, unedited images in your gallery and we do not under any circumstances provide you with RAW files. My reasoning for this is - I never want someone to slap a random filter on an image that I took as it is not a true representation of my work. I am happy to work along side you if you have any specific requests during our session, but RAW images will stay with me, in a safe place, forever.
